About Us

The Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) is the official government body responsible for producing Yemen’s official statistics. The CSO is affiliated with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The CSO’s mission is to produce timely, accurate, and objective statistical information that meets the needs of various users, including government decision-makers, private sector businesses, academia, media, and the general public.

The CSO is tasked with collecting data from a wide range of sources, including national censuses and surveys, administrative records, and other data sources.

The CSO also works with the United Nations and other international organizations to strengthen its capacity for statistical production, including in the areas of data quality and management.

The CSO is responsible for producing high-quality official statistics that meet international standards and is committed to continuous improvement in the production and dissemination of statistical information. The CSO works closely with other government agencies, academia, and international organizations to ensure that Yemen’s statistical system is well developed and able to meet the country’s changing needs.

The mission of the CSO is to provide highly accurate and timely official statistics that meet international standards, in order to support economic, social, and political decision-making.

The CSO strives to produce high-quality statistical information that meets the needs of users and to do so in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. In order to achieve these goals, the CSO has developed a sound organizational structure, well-defined processes and procedures, and a commitment to continual improvement.
